Thanks to Darnell Birmingham (vocals), Donald Birmingham (bass), and Jalen Francis (saxophone) for stopping by Middle C and tearing it up on Bobby Troup's classic, "Route 66."

Area bagpiper extraordinaire Ben Williams stopped by on a drizzly day last week and favored us with an original composition that we'll call "Rain Song."

Middle C Music ukulele student Katie Jacobsen plays the classic song from "The Wizard of Oz," and charmingly so. Come on in to Middle C and take a lesson so that you can play like Katie. More info at

Greta Carlson stopped by and favored us with a surprising version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" on the Recording King resonator guitar.

Matti Michalschek of Berlin-based urban soul band Somebody Else, stopped by to play with our new effects pedal display.

Jose Alvarenga, from Encarnacion, Paraguay, stopped by to dazzle everyone with his amazing guitar chops.

Young Carolina Hoena stopped by to favor us with a performance of Leonard Cohen's immortal "Hallelujah" on the new Vivo Dexibel digital piano.

Andrew Price (l) & Jalen Tate (r), students at Duke Ellington School for the Arts, stopped by, sat down at our Roland digital pianos, and went off on a mind-boggling musical journey.

Shanise Young delighted us with an impromptu rendition of Vance Joy's "Riptide."

The Folklords stopped by last week and favored us with a tune. We meant to post this video sooner, because the duo -- Brian Gormley and Mike O'Malley (on bouzouki) -- were at RiRa in Georgetown all week. So apologies, guys. But we post now as a reminder that these fellows should be playing all over town all the time. Thanks, Folklords!
