Maureen AndaryUkulele, Guitar, Voice"A voice aged beyond its years, quirky and sweet, powerful and muted, able to mold itself to each distinct mood." - Tom Goss, the Acoustic District / In 2008, cabaret artist Maureen Andary was awarded a Young Emerging Artist grant by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities to produce her debut album, “Nostalgia”, and was selected as a finalist in the 2008 Mountain Stage NewSong Contest, one of the premier showcases of emerging musical talent in North America. Maureen sings classic jazz and blues as well as original songs that are inspired by the chord changes of 1930s pop music. A native Washingtonian, she discovered her affinity for classic jazz and blues while a student at New York University. She has been nominated for two Wammies by the Washington Area Music Association this year and performs throughout the DC area including appearances at Blues Alley, the National Zoo, and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Maureen is also proud to be a part of the indie-folk pop duo The Sweater Set. Download their album on iTunes! |

Esther HaynesVoice, Guitar, BanjoEsther Haynes holds a Master of Education Degree from Marymount University in Arlington, VA as well as a Diploma in Professional Music and Voice from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She has been nominated for several Washington Area Music Awards including Debut Recording, Jazz Vocalist, Big Band Vocalist, and Jazz Duo/Group. In 2003 she received a WAMMIE for Big Band Vocalist, and was nominated for Jazz and Big Band Vocalist in 2004. |
